
The city of Medina in Saudi Arabia has been declared the safest city in the world for women traveling alone.
According to Gulf News, a British travel company has released a survey on the safest cities for solo female travelers. The survey examined women's safety while traveling alone at night and the risk of gender-based assaults, giving cities scores out of 10 in both categories.

Similarly, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates ranked third on the list of the world's safest cities for women, with a score of 9.43 for safe solo travel at night and 8.64 for the risk of gender-based assault.
The city of Chiang Mai in Thailand ranked second, Kyoto in Japan fourth, and Macau, a special administrative region of China, ranked fifth as the safest cities for women.
